- 1 cup Water
- ½ cup Unsalted butter
- ¼ tsp Salt
- 1 cup all purpose flour
- 3 Eggs
- Olive oil For frying
In a medium saucepan, combine water, butter, and salt. Bring the mixture to a boil over medium heat.
Add the flour to the saucepan and stir vigorously with a wooden spoon until the mixture forms a ball.
Remove the saucepan from the heat and let the mixture cool for 5-10 minutes.
Add the eggs one at a time, stirring well after each addition, until the mixture is smooth.
Transfer the mixture to a piping bag fitted with a star tip.
Heat the olive oil in a large pot over medium heat until it reaches 375°F (190°C).
Pipe the churro batter directly into the hot oil, using scissors to cut the batter off the tip of the piping bag into 4-5 inch lengths. Fry the churros until they are golden brown, turning occasionally with tongs.
Remove the churros from the oil and place them on a paper towel to drain excess oil.
Serve warm and enjoy!
Optional:
Mix sugar and cinnamon in a small bowl and roll the churros in the cinnamon-sugar mixture until they are coated on all sides.
You can also serve churros with a cup of thick hot chocolate for dipping.
